The hotel room I stayed in didn't look like the one on the website, and the room was quite hot when we arrived, but that was easy to fix. Despite the initial discomfort, it was one of the biggest rooms I've stayed in.
Rooms
7.0
The room was larger than expected, but it was too hot, making sleeping uncomfortable initially. However, the issue was easily resolved.
Service
5.0
The service was a bit lacking. The staff came to apologize and offered a 20% discount, but it didn't quite make up for the issues. They seemed rushed and not very engaging, with some waiting for the manager to address problems.
Location
8.0
The hotel is in a small market town, away from the busy city, which was perfect for getting away from the bustle. However, it can get noisy on weekends due to the location on the high street.
Dining

The dining experience was disappointing. There were long waiting times, concerns about cleanliness, and limited options at breakfast, which was frustrating.

The hotel has a charming atmosphere, but the rooms could do with an upgrade and cleanliness was not great. Despite being next to a pub with loud patrons, the ensuite rooms offer convenience. On the downside, there are nearby refrigeration units causing noise disturbances.

Service
7.0
The staff was friendly and willing to assist with any issues. However, they were not very attentive at times.
Location

The location is excellent for those seeking olde worlde charm and a getaway from the hustle of Birmingham. It's ideal for events at the NEC and a 15-minute drive to the Belfry for golf enthusiasts.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was a nightmare with subpar service both in the evening and at breakfast. Despite self-service options, the quality was lacking and needing constant requests for basic items.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel offers amenities like home-made pastries; however, the overall dining experience was disappointing.

The hotel had comfy rooms with plenty of tea and coffee choices, but they felt very dark and were not soundproof. The service was superb, quick to rectify any issues, although understaffed at times. The location was really good but noisy on weekends. The dining experience was a bit slow and let down by cleanliness issues with the toaster. Overall, a pleasant stay with some minor drawbacks.
